Bitcoin.ie explains bitcoin and crypto for Irish readers in plain English, with each fact linked to the Revenue, Central Bank of Ireland, CCPC or other official page it came from. We don't run a contact form and we don't collect personal details, so this page sets out what we can help with and where to go for the things we can't.
What we are, and what we are not
Bitcoin.ie is an independent general information site. It is not a crypto exchange, broker, wallet provider, tax adviser or financial adviser. It is not authorised by the Central Bank of Ireland because it provides no crypto service. We don't hold anyone's money or crypto, and we can't see any account you hold with a provider.
Questions about your own account
We can't help with accounts, deposits, withdrawals, lost wallet access or tax returns. Please contact the exchange or provider directly, through its own website or app. It holds your account, so it's the one who can act on it. For your tax position, Revenue's own pages and myAccount are the place to start.
If you think you've been scammed
Contact your bank straight away. Then report it to An Garda Síochána, and check the Central Bank of Ireland's unauthorised firms warning list. Our guide to crypto scams in Ireland explains what to do next.
How we keep pages accurate
Every guide shows the date it was published, last updated and last checked, and lists its sources with the date we read them. We recheck pages against those official sources on a regular schedule and whenever a rule changes, and we update the date when we change a page. If a page and an official source disagree, the official source is right.
Everything on Bitcoin.ie is general information only. It isn't financial, tax or legal advice and it doesn't take into account your own circumstances. Check with a qualified adviser or the provider before you decide.
